Education in 4D
Hello, and welcome to my blog. It covers many topics. It contains a picture of my wife and I. I took it with a really cool film camera that I lost, the Olympus Stylus Epic. I kind of want to buy another one, although I'm not sure if I would ever use it.This blog will also mention personality tests that I have taken. Both the Teaching Styles and Personality index had me at pretty middle of the road. Here is a copy of my NC State Learning Styles Index.

Another topic: How did my personality affect my choice of content area?
Despite what these personality tests might say, I think of myself as a very analytical person who is a solo learner. That drove me towards my college major and beginning career in Computer Science. However, I am also a social person who enjoys understanding the world and enjoys reading, and for this reason I've been a voracious reader since I was young, and I also found staring at a computer screen all day as rather depressing, and was attracted to teaching Literature and English. I believe I am more analytical and "let's get all the relevant points into this essay and finish it quickly and efficiently" than your average English teacherHow does or will your personality affect your relationships with your students?
I believe I am able to relate to students who are either very excited about English class, or students who are apathetic towards English. I think I am able to maintain a positive working relationship with my students where my enthusiasm for the material partially transfers itself to them. How will your teaching and learning style affect your teaching and your students' abilities to be successful?
I use a lot of group work in my classes, and a lot of activities which I vary throughout the course of the class. I think this will maintain student interest and differentiate the education.
